Thread: Noob question...Best tuning setup???

Ok, well Im sure there is no "BEST" tuning setup, but I was wondering what you guys think. As far as tuning setups go, i know u can do SAFC/MAFT/DSMLink/AEM EMS....Are there other tuning setups? Out of the ones i listed, what are the pros/cons of each? Which would you guys recommend and for what reason? I was leaning towards the MAFT setup, but i realized i dont know anyhting about the others, so i prob shouldnt go that route till im sure thats the 1 i want to do. SAFC/Pocketlogger - Cheapest tuning option. Effective

MAFT itself is $200 but you have to buy the pipes and the GM MAF which quickly add's up. And in order to log the MAFT you will need a logger.
I have read several people say that it is better to have an SAFC with the MAFT to be more perfectly tuned.

DSM Link and the AEM setup, Lee will tell you about shortly because I haven't used either :)

The "best" option imo for you is DSMLink since you have a 2g. It may take some learning and getting used to, but it will be the best option for your tuning skils, beginner or advance and you can use your maft with it. The 'easiest' tuning combo imo is maft+chip. When you have a chip that tells the cpu that you have 660cc injectors and a afpr thats adjusted properly, you have to make almost 0 changes on the maft. But any of these options will take an understand of how tuning works. So readup if you dont know already, by the time your done understanding everything, you'll have enough to own a Standalone
