That's most likely the problem, especially if you've swapped out IC pipes. I wouldn't mess with the MAF screens. Those are there for a reason and it's really a hack that's reserved for people makin really big power and can't/don't want to switch to speed density or a GM MAF.
Common leaks are the throttle body shaft seals, upper intercooler pipes and blow off valve adapters/gaskets, connections at the turbo. Basically anything that uses a hose clamp... or bolts :) Everything leaks on DSMs, you just have to track them all down by pressurizing the pipes and listening.
