    Default Uhmm... DSMLink and Apple?

I e-mailed the guys at DSMLink about this a while back, and they said that it's been done, but they don't support it, so I was wondering if anybody had ANY success getting DSMLink to work with an apple laptop? I have a PowerBook G4 with OS 10.3.9 on it and I can put classic 9.2 on it also if I need. It's an Ironic situation, I've got 3 windows computers, all with more than enough power to do everything I need with DSMLink and then some, but the only laptop I have is my girlfriend's old powerbook (it broke, I told he I'd fix it, she bought a g5 desktop, so I fixed laptop and keep for myself :P) so unless I want a REALLY long tuning cable, or maybe a PC in my front seat, I'm going to have to figure out how to get an apple running it, or budget for a laptop AND dsmlink at the same time :-(

Lemme know, or if anyone can go on the dsmlink forums and find me relevant information so I can plan ahead, that would be stellar also. Thanks.

I thought DSMLink was Windows based. Now I'm no MAC expert, but doesn't Apple X supports a software that emulates Windows? I know a few people that used MAC's before that ran the Windows emulator to run most of the Win-only aps (snes emulators, applications, blah...). I'm sure it's been brought up before on the DSMLink forums. Lee I bet can check for you next time he's browsing through there.

Well, from what I've read, DSMLink is open source software, isn't it? They said someone had gotten it to compile on the apple, and that if I asked on the forums they'd have someone that knew, but I haven't bought DSMLink yet, so I can't get to the forums... guess I can check it out when I get it, and might just have to set up a long serial cable and a computer in my dad's garage... was going to set up the computer for AllData anway, so, yea.

Yeah, it's open source. I read of a few people using their Mac notebooks but I don't know the details. It's possible though.
