Thread: pulled over

so i was out tuning the other night on the way to the gym. i was on eureka right around century theatre and i floored it in 2nd gear and hit third. got up to about 70mph and let off. i pass the next light and look back and what do i see?? roseville PD trying to sneak up on me. so he pulls me over 1 block from the gym. im think "crap im going to jail" because my license is supposed to be suspended. plus the car is in my cousins name out of state. she he goes through the whole "you know how fast you were going?" crap. then asks whos car it is and so forth. take my license and comes back with a ticket to sign. i guess my license came up valid which was really good for me :D . the funny part of the story was at the end. he says " oh by the way, did you know you have flames coming out of your exhaust when you shifted gears?" haha it was so hard for me to keep a straight face. i just played the dumb part acting like i didn't know because it's registered under my cousins name. he's like " you might wanna have that checked out." im like ok thanks officer. hahaha im sooo surprised he didn't ask to look under the hood or look under the car to check the exhaust. i think the stock looking exhaust tips threw him off. i dont really care why he didn't check things out but im glad he didn't. still got a ticket for speeding but it's better than an impound and jail time.

What sort of engine managment are you using? Something with anti-lag and NLTS or is something just wrong with the car?

no nothing is wrong. its just not tuned, it's running on the rich side. that's what i was trying to do, is getting running a little better. as for engine management, im running an AEM EMS. thing works awesome.

Nice....thats what i'm gunna use for engine management when I upgrade from the Palm datalogger that I have right now.

Thats the great thing about 1g's......no matter how modified they are under the hood, as long as they look stock from the outside and the exhaust isn't annoying, you can get away with anything.

yea black paint would be good. i did it on my last system. i haven't payed too much attention to the cosmetics yet. i will once i start driving the car.

better yet... spray it to look like it's dirty and gross. he definitely won't pay attention to you then.

ha ha, well it's already got a crap load of carbon build up cuz its running rich.
