    Default First time at Sac...

Well I'm happy with the first time out there's room for improvementand this was my first time installing/tuning/driving my car on a track setting. Here's my best overall timeslip:

    Reac.-.750
    60ft.-1.838
    E.T.-13.159
    MPH-103.734
The car seemed to reacted the same from 18-20psi with minor tweaks via DSM Link. Anytime I encountered knock I shifted through to the next gear . This is generally the way it worked out: first gear was the gear that I would tend to short shift the most, second gear usually let me rev throughout the RPM range, and third being the gear that would show knock (still need to do a boost leak test...shame on me). All in all I got about 7 runs in and the car was consistantly in the 13.1-13.2 range @102mph with a good 1.8 60-ft. My best 60ft was a 1.7 so I'm pretty happy with my Spec clutch and all 7 runs were in the span of an hour and a half..

I'll be doing a boost leak test sometime in the next two days and I also have two broken manifold studs (right next each other which isn't helping things) until I get that fixed. I have DSM Link setup to show me the CEL when I'm getting 2 counts of knock and that's when I would shift. Right now I have a really cheap laptop that doesn't have a way to export logs off of it just yet, but I have an adapter coming for it that'll allow me to transfer things via a memory cardcoming. Before I was borrowing one that had a USB port and I could transfer stuff with no problem, but it'll be a few days before I can post up a log.

Got my adapter card holder so, I can transfer logs now, but how do I upload it onto this site? I see that I left the old persons Airflow settings the same after I installed that AEM UEGO WB (he had a MAF-T, I don't) .

I don't think there's anyway to host them on the site if it's not a picture. Unless you e-mail them to Manny You can e-mail them to me and I'll host them and link them here if you'd like.

Well here is an update and why newbies don't usually run 12's at the track their first time  .

Boost leaks are a bi@tch, Ricky (doesn't post on here much as Rick99GSX) just did a boost leak test for me and right as he turned on the air compressor we could here an extremely large leak coming from the turbo housing. Turns out one of the holes for the internal waste gate was blocking this, but now with the internal WG outta there I can (and will) use this as a boost source, so for now it's plugged with a bolt until I can get an npt fitting from Home Depot Motorsports and reroute my MBC and BOV lines . The second one was also another rather large leak at the FIAV under the throttle body. I had bought a blockoff plate previously, but didn't really know if I'd use it or not, but this was the last straw and was really a simple mod to do just a little time consuming with the usual stripped FIAV screws and all.

Just to give you an idea: at the track I was launching at 5500rpm on the stutterbox w/ about 8-10psi of boost . Now, using the same rpm I see 14-15psi and the turbo is really fully boosted by 4,000rpm in 3rd gear and tuning seems to be easier so far too. It feels like I just put on a different turbo, the 20g is really rock'n now. Time for boost leak test round 2 next week  .
