Thread: 700hp STi at Taco Bell on Saturday Night!?!?!?

Ok this guy was claming to be putting down 700hp in his new STi,
First off I call BS right off the bat before even checking out his car, just from hearing him say "once I put in some 1600cc injectors I will be at 1000"!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!! man I was drinking but thats crazy
I almost shot Budwiser out of my nose!!!!
Second off his intercooler core was WAYYYY too small and the piping was only 2.5" which is not enough to support that kind of CFM needed to make that kind of hp
Third, on 3" exhaust.......uhhh no.

his engine compartment looked completely stock save for the I/C pipping and Turbo (HK$ GT35),
Stock Ignition, A/C, Radiator,
From what I could see the guy could not have been putting down more than 480hp which is still going to move that car down the track at a low 11 second clip which for most people is "so fast I pissed my pants" as one kid who rode in it said.
700hp in that car an you are knocking on sub 9 second passes!!!

Well first off i'm the "kid" who rode in the STI ,second what the hell do you know about the car , you weren't in it and i don't remember you on the street when he ran it .he has a dyno sheet that shows 700 HP.like the post above ,John Shepard is running 2.5 " piping and a 3" exhaust...and well he's over 700 isn't he.it's not anyone problem that some people they can afford a full build...he spent the money and if you stayed and looked he had pics of the car as it was being worked on ...it's funny you call BS about him having 700 HP ,i call BS about you knowing anything that has to do with cars and builds ...when's the last time you worked on a boxer engine .better yet when's the last time you ran your car against anyone .so how about you do something other than sit there and hate on someone who has a nice ride .so how about instead of running your mouth you run your car ,i don't see you accepting or offering challenges to anyone .drink your beer and just shut up ...thaks for your time ...that's about all i have to say to you and you calling BS without knowing what you're talkin about

Ok let me explain myself (don't worry Manny I will keep it short and sweet)

I Go off completely what I see, unless I know the person building the car.
I am all to used to the "I bolted on this part and this part and now I am making X amount of power" (everyone knows what I am talking about)
I also did'nt see a dyno graph, maybe because I did'nt ask.
As for the Boxter engine, I have done a few EJ20's into the 97-98 2.5rs chassis. So I am not a total stranger to them.
As for when was the last time I ran my car out at the TRACK, I am at Sacramanto Raceway all the time on Saturdays from 12 to about 4pm (I don' t race people on the street like the guy in the Vette who is going to kill someone one of these days!!) I will be out at Sac Raceway here in two weeks. I am taking My 240 to the All Nissan Meet at Folsom Lake this Saturday so I won't be able to make it.
I would love to run your buddy for fun of course, If he is making that kind of power he should be in the 9's easy and that would be a blast to watch.
Maybe I was little fast to pull the BS card, but If I offended anyone I'm sorry. Props to your friend for making that kind of power .
Does he have his car on any websites?? I would like to check it out.


Oh yea......Shep runs 90mm I/C pipping and 3.5" to 4" exhaust depending on what track elevation he is at.
