    Default Overheating?

    Sup guys,

My car is acting up again, came here to see if any of you had any idea as to what it could be. My car is beginning to overheat again. I changed the upper radiator house because it busted a few days ago. The waterpump and thermostat was also changed about six months ago.

It seems that my car only overheats when I drive it mid-afternoon or eveninigish. It has no problems when I drive it 30mins to an hour in the morning. Also, it is fine on the freeway but once I exit and do some city driving, alot of traffic light to traffic light driving, the temperature guage shoots up to past hot. I pop my hood and I can hear this loud hissing noise but no coolant leak. Also, my Check Engine light came on, too.

    Anyone have any idea?

Loud hissing noise means a coolant leak. It's probably spraying to fine of a mist for you to tell. Another way to tell for sure if its a leak is drive it for a while til it gets hot, pop the hood, listen for the hiss to stop or slow down, then carefully open the radiator cap. If it opens without letting out a lot of steam, that means you've lost the pressure from a leak. Also it'll be pretty obvious if you have a leak if your coolant level isn't full. I'm betting if you fill up your coolant level to full, it won't over heat for a few days til the leak sprays a good portion of it out.
