    Default Boost Spike from HELL!!

Ever since I put my 14b w/ bullseye turbine housing on Ive never been able to get it to boost more then 14psi without spiking like hell.

Heres what happens. If i adjust the boost controller a little above 14psi it will spike like 1 or 2 psi. So I think to myself hey its still at 14psi up that biatch. So I up it. Then it spikes even more past 14psi but always drops right back to the damn number 14. Ive had it as high as spiking to 21psi and I wasnt comfortable raising it any further. Even when spiking to 21psi it would drop right back to freakin 14.

Ive replaced my hallman classic BC with a brand new Hallman Pro. Ive swapped out the wastegate actuator. And Ive also had the BC lines so short that I had to reach down near the radiator fan to adjust the BC (all the while burning my hand multiple times on the turbo manifold!).

The only other thing I think the problem could be is that the tension on the wastegate flapper arm is too tight. On the bullseye housing it has an adjustable flapper arm. Im thinking it needs to be adjusted so that there is less spring tension on it. I tried to adjust it once before but I stripped all my allen wrenches and havent bought new ones yet. I dont know if I will be able to adjust it or not since its stuck pretty good.

Anyone have any other ideas what the problem might be?

I'm having the same problem with mine :( I can basically adjust the spike with the boost controller but it always returns to 18psi. Boost comes on strong and builds to 24psi where I want it, holds there for 500-1000rpms then falls back to 18. It looks like the actuator arm is touching the compressor housing. Other than that, the pre load on the waste gate arm is too high like you said. If I find out what's causing it, I'll let you know.

What kind of BOV you using? Could the boost be pushing it open?

I'm running a type S. Never had the problem before while running 22psi but I'll play with that and see what happens.

Im also running the Type-S. Mine is already set pretty tight so I doubt its that.

Damn you'll have the most expensive 14B on earth :lol

I need to get under there and re clock the center cartrage a bit and hopefully if the waste gate arm isn't rubbing on the comp housing, I'll be able hold more than 18psi.
