What shape was the turbo in? Did you check for shaft play at all?

It only boosts up to 6psi? How are the lines connected to the MBC? Is the wastegate actuator ok?

6 psi isnt enough to feel the turbo. need to be more around 12psi+. Believe me I know the joy of the 14b.. or lack of.

Disconnect your vaccum hose going to your wastegate and run the car and see what it does. Check to make sure all your lines are installed correctly, make sure the J pipe is installed tight. You also may have a boost leak.

    There's your problem right there!

    Wait... damn it... :P

Do what Manny said, disconnect the vac line going to the WG and watch to see if it boosts past 6 psi. Obviously don't ride it out to redline boosting as much as the flapper can hold back, just eliminate the vac tube routing and lack of a MBC as a possible problem... or find out that is the problem and then you know.

ok so i took off the wastegate hose and now it boosts past 6 psi.. so i guess that means i need a mbc? well is it safe to drive on the car without the wastegate hooked up for too long? im guessing it is as long as i dont boost like an asshole... but other than the leak from the oil feed line.. minor smoke from tailpipe (occasionally) the car runs fine now..

Only problem with doing that is uncontrolled boost, just be careful when flooring it.. watch the boost levels.. and let off when it starts to climb.. and go get an mbc
