    Default Vert Top..........

So yeah, i think its time to replace the top on my spyder. Water is seeping through the canvas (Even after RaggTop sealer). I tested the a-pillar seals and it drains water properly down into the door jambs like it should. Water is seeping in through the top and using all the framing to distribute water evenly throughout my cabin area.

Found some places online with vert tops:

Savings may be had by switching to a Chrysler Sailcloth vinyl top. This fabric is available in a wide array of colors.
I emailed them already, im wondering if that means the Chrysler (Pos) Sailcloth vinyl has any water barrier like OEM has or not.

$270 for the Chrysler Sailcloth vinyl replacement with plexiglass window (I never use rear defrost, nor do i use the rear window much at all, its too tiny to look out of and the headliner always droops and covers half of it anyways) isnt that bad of a price.

I got a bottle of some shoe/canvas protectant george recommended, it applied and smells just like RaggTop so who knows, worth a shot as im all out of RaggTop anyways. Even if only slightly, it means im less wet on the drive to work!

    Any suggestions?

Savo, you ever replace one of these fuckers? BBQ/Install day @ Savos?

I know it was pretty easy to remove when I did it on the red spyder. It looks harder than it is. With 2 people, R&R will probably take maybe 2 hrs.

yeah the hardest part is reinstalling and doing the webbing and tie-down cables. Theres a writeup on tuners as well as that place sends an install manual.

that Chrysler Sailcloth they use is the one that is vinyl but has a texture it, sorta like the MR2, and used on the Sebrings as well. I think I might go with that, as that site emailed me back earlier and highly recommends it. They are gonna send samples out to me of each fabric though.

i actually like the oem cloth, the one like the mr2/buddys mustang feels more "plasticky". But i dont know which one would actually be better on keeping water away. I know you can rip the plastic one alot easier lol

If the vinyl isnt durable enough then yeah, ill go with OEM. Im always dropping/raising the top so thats a good point George.

Id rather not pay someone $400 to install it if its possible to do yourself, just time consuming. Im sure with a couple of heads, install guide from the place and writeups on t00nerz we can knock it out. I do know there is a canvas/convertible install place downtown, should give them a call.

I was gonna go purple actually.

George, looks like that waterproofing stuff worked. I went to lunch earlier and it had beaded up perfectly, and i didnt have any water penetration inside the car. I had two drips that came through the top latches though.
