    Default P0170 97 GST

i am having problems with my 97 Eclipse GST I have the code P0170 that keeps coming up and It is a new O2 sensor. My car idles weird when it is cold and it idles up and down . once it is warm it works a little better but when it is at idle my air/fuel gauge reads lean lean lean and it will randomly smoke out the back ..... smell rich . When i am driving it seems normal . only at idle seems to be the problem .
    Some help me please

What fuel pump & injectors are you running. Usually that code means the Short and or Long term fuel trims are too lean/rich to properly adjust. If you're on stock injectors/pump, then I would test the o2 sensor and wiring to it, especially if it's spliced.

I am running stock injectors and fuel pump but i have a t3/t4 turbo at 8 - 9 psi. I just got a new O2 sensor and everything seems to be right. I thought that it might be becasue i don't have a SAFC or anything

$700?! I think you're better off just borrowing one from a local dsmer :P I'd let you use the one Savo gave me, but it's been gutted LOL.

With factory scan tool...look at your fuel trims it needs to be in single digits with (p0170-running lean) you will be at - single digits wich means bad air fuel mixture or verry small vacum leak and your O2 dont have $hit to do with p0170 :D
