Default Anyone know what plug this is next to the radio harness?

    96 TSI AWD 5spd

I'm repairing the wiring harness in this car. I got a full harness from a 98 GSX. I was able to repair the radio harness, but there seems to be a plug on the 96 that isn't on the 98. Can anyone help figure out what this is?

It looks very similar to the plug used on the TPS. It even has a retaining clip. 3 wires come off of it. Here's a quick sketch of what I remember it looks like (please ignore the color as I'm doing this purely off of memory since I'm here at work)

    Anyone?

I never thought of that, but you could be right. No one on dsmtuners or talk knows what it is, and I couldnt find it in dsmcd. Would make the most sense since it's coming off of the radio plug harness. I'll have to research that, thanks :)

it is the cd changer plug if you're getting it from a 98 GSX. they had a cd changer that came stock on the cars with the premium sound system.

Well this was on a 96 talon harness, so I'm guessing they had CD changers on this year as well? Thanks for the clarification, here's what the plug looks like:

It has nothing to do with the radio, it actually VERY important.

Its to the "G Sensor" and no I am not joking very few turbo cars came with this. it is for the ABS system

The part bolts right there on that lower bracket, it is a black square box about 1.5" x 1.5" and says g sensor right on it.

Thanks for straightening that out. I'll post that on my replies in tuners & talk. Good thing there's no more ABS on this chassis.

It could have been a cd changer plug. CD changers also need power and ground to work.

Now that I see the picture, it's the "g-sensor"

My red 1gb awd has it but in the middle of the back seat.

If you don't have ABS on your car, you wont need the g sensor.
