yea they do run out, but with some cams its a little better. my last 2v with comp cams started losing power at 6200 rpm. there's a lot of restriction on those motors that needs to be free'd up. plus the head design is pretty crappy, have you ever seen the combustion chamber on a 2v head? its just horrible.

    Literally..

Sooooo close.. hehe.. Its what i get for NOT being a Cheap DSM-er..

I jsut never rebuilt the bottom end because it was good.. How good.. who knows. Previous owner had it done.. But its held up to some serious abuse for 3 years.. Even got me a runner up at a trophy class NHRA Chassis works series drag.. (Which im bitter about.. It was pre-2step and i bogged the launch on the money race :(

Now that im a student again THIS happens.. heh..

Im starting to lose faith! Especially with the whole state ref BS.. The Evo is the next rice rocket.. Too many well-to-do kids are getting their hands on them and ricing them out allready!

Makes me wanna go out and get a 69 z-28 for a cheapo rolling chassis and stuff a coupla snails under the hood and flip off every cop i pass While i puke thousands of lbs of hydrocarbons into the air thru my catless exhaust..

    I think im getting "Old-Dirty'itis"

Except for you put 69 Z28 and the word cheap in the same sentence....

You will be luckly to find a "roller" 69 Camaro for less that 10k the market on Muscle cars right now is stupid, I have work lined up for months,

Parts Purchased to make it pass with the stock shit on...

    O2 sensor
    CAT
    EGR
    Plugs and wires..

    I discovered the problem..

The cat was narly AND MY BRAND NEW BOSCH O2 SENSOR WAS DEAD!

    Fuggin totally dead..

And the damned ECU only throws a code for it after driving for a coupla days and hitting a WOT run..

    0 Volts.. 1 month old 02 sensor..

Replaced it and it what do ya know...

(I wasnt using my logger or I would have noticed the o2 voltage...)

    Oh well.. Im happy now..

I dont think passing smog at the state ref buys you 2 years. I think you still have to do it at the regular interval

It was a smog for the state ref to clear a modification ticket..

Dont think it affects the vehicle's emissions testing cycle...

Just like when you buy a car thats smogged it doesnt mean you have 2 years from the date you bought it..

Its a 2 year cycle that starts at the first year the vehicle has to pass smog check..

So thanks to my dumb luck i will have to pass another smog this december!

(But only at a smog check station not the state ref.. so its a little easier.)
