    Default defroster won't work

simply put, it takes over an hour for my windshield to completely defrost. i usually just wipe it down with some napkins. it baffles me how the defrost on my 89 dodge minivan can work perfectly and my eclipse's won't work at all.

side note: i finally figured out my random misfire problem. plug wires. i swear those Accel wires only lasted two years. i switched back to the stock wires and it fixed the problem.

it blows very hard and it can get very hot when i set it that high. and i tried the fog-x about a month ago and it worked perfect for about two weeks, then i realized i had to keep reapplying the stuff. is there a way moisture can built up in the defroster vent? or can something in there get clogged with dust/dirt?

If your drains in the cowl duct are plugged it will never defrost,

(Cowl area is the below the wiper arms)

or your ac evaporator drain is plugged too.

Yep, that's how defrosters work :) That and warming the glass up a bit with the heat.

yup pretty much. what i've found that works great is to crack the window just a little and blast the heat. i dont always want my compressor on all the time so i do this if its not raining bad. but yea the a/c comp is supposed to kick on with the defrost, it drys the air which gets rid of the moisture on the windshield. another thing, clean your windshield so its spotless. a dirty windshield will fog up like no other.
