    Default another problem... wtf

so i had to change out my fuel pump to pass smog. i bought one off savo and i know it works. after i made the switch, the car won't start ever. i've been cranking it sparatically through the past hour. i've double-checked everything i can think of (everything is plugged in and all the lines are hooked up and i can hear the pump turn on). i didnt touch anything else at all, wtf is goin on?

If u really want to check if it working take off the fuel line off the fuel rail to see if fuels going through. Check for spark? I had something similar to this. I found out it was my ecu chip was F'd up.

try switching it back and see if it fires up. if it works, then cool. if not, then something is wrong.

Heres the steps I would take to figure out what happened. Since the last thing you did was simply change out the pump:

    1) Disconnect the inlet of the fuel rail (2 10mm bolts) and point the end toward an empty cup. Have someone try and turn the motor over, and you should see fuel spit into the cup. You can rule out the fuel at that point.

    2) If nothing spits out, then double check your work at the pump. If worse comes to worse, you can simply swap pumps back out to verify the pump you purchased from Savo is in working order.

after checking for fuel at the rail (which there was fuel but not a lot), i took the pump out again (for the 4th time) and discovered something.... you know there's supposed to be a rubber o-ring on the fuel outlet of the pump... who knew? i hate myself.

problem fixed. thanks to everyone who replied :D

I was just going to say that, you pulled the pump out, the ring stayed in the tube so naturally you thought to just stick the pump back inthere instead of fishing the ring out and sticking it ONTO THE PUMP FIRST THEN STICKING THE PUMP INTO THE FEED TUBE, so you had a "Fish tank pump" going on in your tank

a guick fuel pressure test would have shown that,

pulling the line off will show fuel voulme, not pressure.
