Thread: Boost leak

Ok did the old soapy water test.

    Found:
Throttle body gasket had small leak (fixed)
    BOV had small leak (fixed)
and a coupler on my LICP had a small leak (Fixed)

But still only builds 3psi and backs to 0 fast. I thought it was the PCV becuase it lets air into my VC(got a new one just incase) but the new one does the same thing. The injector seals look good, Biss screw was fine. and well I dont have much vac lines there are 5 caps on instead look fine, 2 on egr valve and 3 on the TB. Not sure what else left to try.

Would a compression test tell me if i have bent valve or not what do you guys think?

How did you determine that? You perform a leakdown test?

Well my car does idle kinda bad(like it has cams). Also am doing the boost leak test at the TB elbow. air goes in liek nothing and comes out of the VC vent hose liek nothing. Cranked it over to make sure am not tdc still does it. wont even hold more than 3psi just blow air out of my VC vent. Not more options left gotta be bad valves.

pull the VC and check to see if your valve guides fell off (easy way to tell if the valves are bad). check your cat. conv also. that causes low to no boost.
