    Default Random Misfire

I'm getting the Random Misfire CEL and I can feel my car stutter really bad and it sounds like a Harley Davidson... lol

I hear that this happens when using the 1g CAS. Does anybody know a fix?

You can handle that using DSMlink. I believe it is the invert CAS option, not entirely sure though.

So i inverted the CAS in DSMLink last night, but i didn't get a chance to drive the car. so i drive it to work today, and boom, random misfire in 5th gear cruising around 55-60mph. i read on t00nerz that everyone is getting the misfire in 4th or 5th gear while cruising around 55-60 mph.

think i should just do the potentiometer mod and tune it out? or should i check the spark plugs, wires, and coil packs?

    You have a 1g CAS?

    Aren't you running a 7-bolt?

I think you found your problem right there....switch out your 1g CAS for your 2g CAS.....

    Hey, its worth a shot.

Regardless of 6-bolt or 7-bolt, 2G owners switch to a 1G CAS so they can adjust timing without buying DSMLink or other more expensive tuning equipment. I think Rich went with the 1G CAS then later decided to get DSMLink so it's just causing problems and not doing anything for him.

like Lee said, 2g 7bolt owners can run the 1g CAS. there are tons of people who found the fix to the problem, but i can't seem to. the invert CAS button on DSMLink is supposed to take care of it. but it didn't.
i've read on NABR, Magnus, RRE, and other places and they all say either do the POT mod which is just a bandaid or get DSMLink because it'll fix that. but they don't list the fix?

The invert CAS function is the fix, something must be wired wrong.
