Thread: Exhaust leak?

My car always had a sound like it had a very small exhaust leak, until tonight while I was at WOT my car just got extremely loud and sounded like a car without a muffler going down the road. And my boost leak that wouldn't allow my turbo to boost past 13, had gone away and my boost would rise the higher the rpms get. So did my exhaust leak just get alot bigger or what? :x

Sounds like your exhaust came off before your catalytic converter somewhere and now you're getting boost creep.

yup i agree. check your o2 housing, after i did the 14b install on my 2g, i didn't re-torque all the bolts after everything was warmed up and my o2 housing was barely hanging on...... :shock: it sounded like a freight train drivin down the road when i got on the gas....

Exactly what happened, piece just before the cat, busted open. I assumed the cat was blocking the flow which is why I had the boost problem, so they replaced the cat with just a straight piece of pipe, and connected it all back up and im back down to 13 psi. :(

sprung a leak AGAIN!!!!!!!! :evil: :evil: :evil: Sounds like its coming off the bottom end of the exhaust manifold now. WTF is going on?

Cracked exhaust manifold/blown gasket But on the "bright side" :roll: My boost came back.
