These are just first impressions, I haven't done a hole lot with DSMLink yet. I went from a custom eprom chip and MAFT to DSMLink and MAFT for reference. My mod list is listed in the "mod list" thread in the kickback general discussion forum.
I installed the chip and zeroed out the idle mid and wot knobs on my MAFT. Started the car and idle was perfect. Configured all of the features I needed like CAS inversion, IAT clamp, and other stuff. Went for a drive down my street and I couldn't believe how smooth acceleration, decel, and cruising was at low speeds. I've always had a little jerkyness that I never even realized until it was completly gone.
I tryed out the logging feature and it blew my mind. I was displaying 4 different parameters but DSMLink actually logged about 12 that I could display in any combination on a graph or export to text form. On top of those twelve, you can log another 20 or so including aftermarket WBo2 meters, Greddy equipment, a GM map sensor to log actual boost, and other add on sensors like a real IAT. The frame rates are rediculous compaired to a palm logger.
The feature that made my day was the knock gauge conversion. I had this conversion on my DSMChips eprom chip and didn't want to give it up but was told DSMLink doesn't have that feature. Well it does along with about 10 other gauges you can display using the worthless stock boost gauge.
So full timing controlls, injector compensation, fuel correction and airflow controls, nitrous controls, and tons more makes DSMLink untouchable by piggy backs and affordable compaired to stand alones like AEM.
I need to configure my MAFT then I can start using this thing to it's fullest. I logged a WOT pull to get an idea of where I'm at and the car pulled harder than it ever did even though I haven't touched the tuning tools yet. I'll list more when I get there.
