    Default New Evo III 16g

I just recently purchased a brand new MHI E3B16g fully ported and 34mm flapper from Extremepsi.com. It only took about 1 1/2 weeks to get here and the port job is beatiful :D . I've installed it since and I feel compelled to say, HOLYMOTHEROFALLMIGHTYCRAP this turbo is fast. The only thing weird about the turbo is the WG actuator only boosts about 8-9 psi with a line from the J-pipe  . My mbc maxed out at 16 psi  ! But other than that, awesome turbo and extremely cheap not to forget.

Do you have any boost leaks? and when you said "E3B16g" I would assume you didn't mean to put the B in there referring to Big 16G?

Well that is the MHI given name "Evo III Big 16g". Not to mention the constant comparisons with Regular Big 16gs vs. EvoIII Big 16gs.

As far as boost leaks go, I fairly certain I have none but I have yet to prove this. I just dont see any other boost/vac leak related problems. My 14b held 18 psi no prob up till 5k when I hit FC.

I take it by "fairly certain" you mean you haven't actually pressurized the system and tested it? You'll find all kinds of leaks if you've never pressurized the intake track.

For future reference, there isn't a "Evo III BIG 16G" It's either Big 16G or EVO III 16G. :)

Your right. I was wrong. Stupid compressor wheels. :x

Even if I just installed a new uip and triple checked the 2 clamps on the lip? I am getting pressure tester kit when I get paid wensday.

You guys think that intake tract leaks is the only way my car would act like so? It seems like it would make sense though considering I have 10-12 counts of knock i cant seem to get rid of. But you dont think more serious problems would present themselves if I had considerable boost leaks?

The knock would make sense too. Usually you'll get knock counts from running a really rich AFR. Boost leaks would cause this for sure. You may find other leaks other than your new UICP. Some that I've had are the shaft seal O rings on the throttle body, throttle body gaskets, intake manifold gasket, j pipe gasket, and even if your hose clamps are tight, if they're crooked a little they'll still leak.

Some other things might be bad O2 sensor or bad spark plugs and wires but you'd most likely have other problems along with weird knock counts and low boost.
