    Default Changing brakes.

My rear brakes are grinding. I don't know how they got bad so fast. Anyway, I've called a few places and they are overcharging. How difficult is it to change brakes? Anyone know a link to where I can buy some and a faq on how to do it. Thanks.

Its pretty easy. You probably only need to change the pads unless your rotors are eaten up. Just take the caliper off and pop the new pads in. Im not sure on the 2g's but on my old awd talon I had to get a special tool to compress the piston in the rear caliper to allow clearance for the new pads. I got that tool from autozone. Ill be finding out if i need it here soon as Im doing my rear pads too (also from autozone).

Yup it's easy. Basic hand tools and you'll figure it out as you go. I think I used a c-clamp to compress the piston, but that was so long ago that I may be confusing it with another brake job. Whatever was needed was laying around though.
