    Default Vent to Atmosphere

I know this is a looked down upon topic to some people, and they dont want to here about it but i was wondering something.
Does any one know why some DSM's can vent to the atmosphere with out the MAFT and the car runs fine, And then some DSM'S can't?

Thats my question i was just curious and wanted to see if anyone here knew.

    Thanks

No idea. Mine used to be fine until recently.

Now whenever I vent (w/o MAFT) my car tends to die all the time. If I let the revs fall too quick or when turning the car just shuts off.
    Mmmm... boost? Si Si.

i vented fine when i used to do it, back when i though the bov noise was the coolest thing in the world.

then a week later i went back to recirc.

now a year later i wish it would just shut the hell up, theres enough noises in the dsm already.

tuning... slobo ran fine vented because of his tuning on his AFC. jason ran fine vented because of the way he tuned his AFC. i ran like crap vented until i tuned my AFC. never once did it die on me since then.

Sorry no amount of tuning will help a vented bov on a stock MAF/MAS setup if you initially have problems (well...venting itself is a problem which can't be tuned out). It boils down to all cars are different. Some cars have leaks through their stock ic hoses, some cars have valves on their bov's that don't seal correctly. Some cars also run richer then others as well as run different idles and neutral-catches when you put in the clutch after WOT. So just realize if your on a stock MAS, your not doing it for any other reason then just the sound and you'll have a 50/50 chance of your car working "good enough" to drive. The price of venting on a stock mas is running rich between shifts and unmetered air being lost. Newbies usually dont care about those 2 facts until they get heavier setups.
