Jay's was authentic, and mine is the knock-off. They are exactly the same in every way. Except mine didn't come with the "SUPER COOL" Greddy sticker........yeah.... I have read up on the fake bov and everyone said that it sounds the same and has never had any problems with it. But to answer your question, I haven't gotten it to sound off. I figured that it needed to be adjusted like jay's, so we tried and we failed.

If your able to swap with Jay's right quick, that'll help you determine if the problem is the BOV or something else. What I would do is vent your wannabetype-S, pop your hood, then rev the throttle cable up really high while putting your hand in front of the bov. Feel if any pressure is being released when you let off the cable.you should also be able to feel/hear air being sucked in as you rev the motor up. The valve should start to open.

I know on mine, the stock hose was too big and there was such a big boost leak the the valve didn't function properly. It worked, but not right. Have you dont a boost leak test?
