Default Spyder GST and lowering, questions

seeing 98spyderT's super clean drop i have decided to do a drop much like his.

i will be going with Eibach ProKit springs and Tokico Illuminas

after looking everywhere for prokit springs, i have run into a dilemma. there are a few versions.

    -MITSUBISHIEclipse 2WD (Incl. GS, GS-T, RS & Turbo; Exc.Spyder GS-T) 1995-99
    part # 6014.140, with a 1.2" drop
    -MITSUBISHIEclipse Spyder GS(EXC.Spyder GS-T)1996-99
Part # 6015.140, theyre sportlines though with a 1.6" drop.

i cant find any eibachs(or any other spring/coilover) that say specifically for a 96-99 Spyder GST.

my question. do all spyders use the same application, or do all 2gGST use the same application? which one should i order?

98spyderT what application did you use on your car? btw i cant even find H-Tech teins, only the S-Tech ones. and whered you get your shocks?

any help is much appreciated. id like to lower the 4x4 as soon as possible for the summer.

If you don't find any you can always get some weld racing rims, and big tires and hang out with the truck guys :P , But you seriously need to lower that thing.

" called Eibach and they said that the 6015.140's that I bought will fit on a gs-t spyder!!!!!"

    "6015.140....with tokico blues, perfect drop....."

seems like they would sit a little low.. but thats what others said so I would wait for a few more opinions and trying e-mailing ProStreet-SBR..etc. to find out what they would recommend.

I got my springs from 9 Second Racing http://www.9secondracing.com/Mitsubi...anceparts.html

I just used the GS-T Springs even though they said Exc Spyder like the ones you posted. The only difference is the weight so the advertised .9" front .8" back will end up being more like 1.2" front 1.3" back. At least that's what mine ended up being after they settled :)

Got the shocks on E-bay Best deal I could find was only $360 shipped for all 4 and they took only 2 days to get here from Nevada. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

    Thanks for the compliment! :D

Very flattered 8). That's why I wrote that little review, I think shocks and springs are one of the hardest parts to pick because there's so many combinations and most of the combinations leave use with a shit ride, way too much camber, too low or lots of crap. I think you'll like it, I finally got my car out of the garage today and drove it to school and forgot how great it feels compaired to stock :D

so i got them in thursday night, hoping to install them thursday night and go to sac raceway friday, but fate intervened and threw away my wheel lock key.

friday(today) after work, got the wheel locks removed. got home and me and boostedawd get to work at about 6 and finish up at around 10-10:30ish.

fucking pain in the ass. especially for guys who havent done suspension but maybe once in their lives. and i know nothing about suspension assembly, parts and names. but i down to learn.

took us about a hour for the rear pass side. my dad told me we had to take off the shock shaft bolt, then the 2 outer bolts, then put on spring compressors, then pull out the bolt that holds it into the suspension. then i looked in the book, and realize that we dont need spring compressors(they wouldnt fit up in the wheel well anyways) and that the bottom bolt comes first, then the top 2 side ones, and the center shaft bolt is left untouched till the spring/shock comes out. took 2 minutes to remove it. once we knew what to do, took another 5 minutes for the other side.

then the front. holy bejesus. took us another hour and half to get one side done, but then just 20 minutes for the other side.

if i had to do it again now it would prolly take me 40 minutes for the whole car with help of a buddy.

ill post pics later this weekend.
