Thread: $35,000 challenge

OK so i havent been a tuner for a little over a year now. but now that there is a company bet going on about a $35000 car being the fastest i decided to get into the middle of it. im getting a evo rs, another old tuner from back the day is getting a gsx. and we decided to turn back to the tuners where we started. basically there are a bout six guys in on this. we decided to to have a cap of how much can go into parts and the car. $35000 thats our max. and wouldnt you know some one is bringing in a wrx, another is bring a 914, and another is unsure. the contest is of a road course, 1/4 mile and an oval. anywhere to even know where to begin would be great.

Gee I wish I had the money to just go out and buy a brand new evo just cause someone issued a challenge.

anyways, to answer your question, i need to know a few things. do you already own the vehicle? if not, is that a part of the parts money that will need to be spent? if not, here we go :)

i'd recommend the GSR over the Evo RS. however, if you've got your heart set on the RS there is still hope.

start off with the simple bolt ons. blow off valve, intercooler pipes, full 3" exhaust, etc.

fastest car with 35k invested(35k meaning car+parts) wins. judging in 1/4, road course and oval racing. so having a car with all around potential is a must.

i wouldnt go the evo route, cause theres a good portion of money already. id get a fox 5.0 for around 5k and 30k invested........twin turbo, nitrous, built like a mofo, full suspension, everything, and still have money left over to buy a truck and a trailer to haul it to the track. nobody said anything about being street legal.......
