Pick a cylinder any cylinder take the piston about halfway down the stroke then insert rope or rubber hose through the sparkplug hole until you can't cram anymore in.(Make sure you leave some out of the hole or you will be in a fix when done :!: ) Turn the crank until it wont turn anymore remove the flywheel bolts lower the piston back down and remove the rope or hose and your done.
To install do the same thing.
Also best to do it on a cylinder thats comming up on comperssion.
Sounds like an awesome way, but my head is not on... :?:
Is the engine still in the car? if yes use a 1/2" braker bar and brace it agenst the chassy and then brake the bolts loose. Just rember a BIG 1/2" air impact wrench is your best frend!!![]()

OMG.... im so screwed, engine is not in car, and i just sold all my air tools like half a year ago. :x :x
BTW, i took off another flywheel like this, just held flywheel with my hand and took it off. But this one wont move..
Well I would say the last one someone did not tigthen the bolts! They are to be tourqed to 100ftlbs![]()
Is the engine on the ground / on a stand what are you playing with? :?:
on ground, i dont think theres a way to put engine on stand with the flywheel on, thats the reason i started this thread because i need to put my engine on stand.... :?
Pull the pan stick a block ov wood or somthing simular between a counterweight and the bolck, anything to lock up the crank.
Just insert tranny bolt in your block and use prybar and stick it in flywheel teeth and rest against the bolt its simple and easy.
alright ill try that thats a lot.
