Well Some may remember me and some may not.Here is the story... I sold my modded 90 laser rs turbo awhile back, got into HONDAS again.. Wanted a DSM like a crack fiend, so I tried to trade my sport bike for one, was talked out of it.. Then luck struck me recently..
3 years ago I met a OLD guy with a car I wanted he was the original owner... I told him If he ever wanted to sell it to call me, I gave him my number.. well 3 years later HE CALLS ME!! he want's to sell it. I go check it out in ELK GROVE and laid the cash down and picked it up and drover her home..
I picked up a 1991 GALANT VR4, Belize green..from original owner, for $200.. yes $200
It has many new parts, motor,in/out harnesses,ecu,all sensors,turbo etc.. all paperwork/maintenence records since bought. The paint is faded on the hood,roof,and trunk as usual. body is good with minor door dings here and there.. Interior is clean but the back leather cracked at the top seams due to sun..EVERYTHING works, even ice cold a/c.
The problems are it makes a nasty noise like input shaft bearing?center diff?, metal to metal grinding when driven(has yet to be diagnosed), But in all the paperwork i looked over, besides clutch, there are no mentions of driveline R&R. I will replace the whole drivetrain up to the rearend, as a preventative precaution..
I already bought a (used/good) tranny,tranfer case until I get the vr-4 unit race rebuilt ..will be ordering all the carrier bearings/bushings,u-joints,yoke kit , tranny seals,tranfer case seal this week. along with lightened flywheel and ACT 2600.
Plans after the preventative maintenance will immediately include

WHAT SUCKS IS,I most likely have to pay for all the driveline stuff to get done (due to a severe back injury I incurred ) but I can do the simpleton stuff .. LOL
Hopefully you guys still have meets and hopefully I can attend one in the Galant.
