Is it hard to change the HG cause I have never done it and I don't have the necessary tools. I only got the basic tools.

all you're gunna need are some philips screw drivers for the drivers side splash gaurd, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm sockets, a deep wall 10mm for the timing belt cover, a hex bit for the head bolts, a torque wrench to tighten everything back to spec, a ratchet, and wrenches in the same sizes i mentioned above, a jack to lift up the engine a little while you take off the upper driver's side motor mount, a wooden block to put on top of the jack, a couple alligator clips or long zip ties to hold the timing belt in place, and a long bolt (M8x 1.25) to release the timing belt tensioner. If your tensioner isn't good anymore, replace it. You should also replace the water pump while you're in there. If your valve cover gasket isn't flexible anymore, replace it.

If you'd like, you can also replace the balance shaft belt. I would just take it off and not replace it, to free up a couple horse power and not worry about it going bad and taking out your timing belt with it, but some people on here will bark about leaving it off, claiming that your engine will kill itself, and blah blah blah. I've been running without a balance shaft belt in my white 1gB for over 4 years with no problems.

Shouldn't take you more then 3.5 hours to do.
You should pull the head with the intake manifold and exhaust manifold still attached to head, it will make things easier for you. Take the intake manifold and exhaust manifold off of the head once it's off the engine.

If you want to do a really good job, you can also do a balance shaft elimination to get rid of it entirely, but you'll need to drop your oil pan for that. If you do a balance shaft elimination, your next timing belt change will be a lot faster. ARP head studs would also be a good idea while you're in there.
    BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....

    My same thoughts.

Take it to a shop that KNOWS Mitsus and be prepared to fork out $2,000 just to realize someone installed the thermostat upside down

What is making it over heat???

Eclipses are not known for headgasket failures unless you are running a ton of boost or you ran it out of coolant, or you trimmed your fan shrouds to make your crappy ebay I/C pipping fit.

Well I'm loosing coolant everytine I go into the freeway. I already changed my radiator, and installed a new thermo-stat. I don't have any water in the oil so is not leaking into the engine. Also I don't see any water leaks under the car. I just don't know what to do. I need to do a compression test to see if is leaking. let me know where is a good place to take my car.

Get a cooling system pressure tester, you use it to see it the cooling system is holding pressure while the engine is off and cool
it has a gauge to watch for pressure drop, if the pressure drops you have a leak somewhere, then start looking. if it leaks on the ground it is most likley a hose. if the pressure drops and no leaks, check the heater core under the dash. if your oil is still clean pull your spark plugs, they should all be dark, if one is really clean and has a hint of green on the electrode ceramic its leaking from the head to the combustion chamber.
