    Default Almost running

I'm doing a swap on a 95 tsi with a 97 motor. While I had the new motor out, I replaced the timing belt and water pump. I'm pretty much done but I think the timing is off though but thought I would check with you guys. On the 97 the cam sensor is moved to the left side of the valve cover and uses a different connector. I rewired/extended the 97 connector to work with the sensor. Is this going to work or what do I have to do? It's getting fuel and spark but when it's cranking it will backfire. Is there something else I should be aware of when doing this swap? Like is the 95 ecu ok or any connectors different?
I know it's another 7 bolt but I got it for real cheap. Hopefully I'll be able to start coming to the meets soon.

Figured it out. It was the firing order. Just in case anyone needs to know in the future it's 2341.
