    Default Muffler Shop For Welding

Anyone know a good cheap place I can take my car to get the 02 sensor bung welded into my downpipe for my AEM UEGO? Also, I have a cutout so I'm assuming I should it put before the cutout, but any recommendations on distance? I was thinking maybe at the part right before the Y to the cutout. I also think I would want them to make me a little thing to direct the exhaust out of the cutout, towards the ground because last time I looked it looked like it was slightly melting the coating on the bottom of the car...lol. Any suggestions appriciated, I drove around trying to find something that looked good to stop at but couldn't find anything around Stockton.

Oh yeah, anyone used Pacific Powdercoating before? I want to get my new valve cover coated before I replace the cracked/jb-welded one.

    TY

as far as distance on the bung, i think it needs to be about 18" away from the turbo and at a 10deg angle.

I am planning on getting a UEGO as well and I was told that it has the feature to similuate your narrow band o2 signal. Which means, you can install you wideband in place of the stock front o2 sensor, tap into your ecu's o2 sensor signal, and run the car like that and be fine. Worked on the Subaru side of town, should work for any other application. No need to make another tap :)

yea it'll work for DSM's as well. the installation sheet just recommends it be at least 18" away (on the downpipe is where 18" winds up) and at a 10deg angle.

I don't remember exactly but I thought the instructions say 36" or something to that nature. I'll double check and post back when I find them. Also, I have the newer style gauge which I believe might not have the simulated front 02 sensor thingy. Its model 30-4100. Again, I'll double check on that but I thought on DSMlink forums they came to the conclusion that you can't do it with that model.

Ok, sorry about the slow response guys.

Direct quite from my "AEM Installation Instructions for 30-4100 Gauge-Type UEGO Controller"

"Mount the O2 sensor in the exhaust at least 18 inches downstream from the exhaust port. If you anticipate high EGT's (over 800C), run a turbocharger, run at a high RPM for extended periods of time or plan on running leaded race fuel then you must mount the sensor at least 36 inches or more downstream of the exhaust port as all of these can cause the sensor to overheat."

Also, here is a post from DSMLink forum where I thought I heard the one I have can't output the narrowband single.

With the guage type controller it has no narrowband output. AEM also suggests if running a turbo to place it further downstream. I put mine in the rear O2 location, there is already a hole in the floorpan for the wiring and the bung is there too.

That's what I did with my PLX also. It was a simple install with the bung already there and the hole/plug in the floor pan under the seat. You can unplug the rear O2 and disable it with DSMLink so it's super simple.
