Default Good Transmission Place For Seals

    Hey guys,

After changing tranny seals on both sides at least 3 times, my transmission is still leaking some fluidon the passenger side. I got the drivers side to stop leaking on like the 3rd time but after the 4th, the passenger side is still freaking leaking! So, I'm thinking of taking it to ....he that rapes in ass (Satan), so they can charge me 400 dollars and ruin my alignment to fix it. If anyone knows any good shops that would be a reliable alternative please let me know. I'll be taking it in today but will check the board before I do.

    ty :(

First two times I got from Mitsu and the last 2 times I got from a friend of mine who has an OEM account with his BMW shop. I looked at the surface and didn't see any problems. I also don't think theres anything wrong with that part because it was fine before I did the clutch/flywheel and I was very careful with everything when I was taking it out/putting it back in.

Check the vent "bulb" on the top of the case. if it is plugged the heat and pressure will build up in the case forcing the oil past the seals, thats a easy fix and it sounds like that could be your problem

I checked the bulb looking thinger above the passenger seal and it looked like it was in pretty good condition and I couldn't see anything clogging it but I cleaned it anyway. I don't think that is the problem though. Thanks for the help OD.

So I took my car to the mechanic my family goes to and he looked at it and hasn't even popped out the axle's or anything but he said that he thinks its probably the axles...does this sound right? He wanted to charge me around $400 to do both sides...

I just find it hard to believe the axles are bad since it wasn't leaking before I did the clutch...what do you guys think I should do? I read someone else had this problem on their car on dsmtuners and they took it to AMS and they fixed it without changing the axles. His situation was very similar to mine, unfortunately the guy never posted about what AMS exactly did to fix the problem.

Oh yeah..and he asked me if it did this before I lowered the car...

Well this is what I would do if I was fixing it.
    1st pull the axles
2 check to be sure the seals are the right ones
3 check axle seal surfaces for nicks or scaring
    4 Mic axle seal surface
5 use a good seal driver
6 fill trans to correct level
7 do a big burnout for good measure
    8 have a beer
    9 check for leaks
    10 no leaks
    11 have another beer

Yay! Well, I pulled them one last time and this time I tried not tapping the seals so far into the transmission. I thought maybe they were too far in but you would think they would make it so you only can tap it in as far as it should have to go, but no. So if anyone has this problem in the future, try tapping the seals about 85% into the transmission. I never noticed theres a little groove type thing that fits the axle side of the seal perfectly too. So problem fixed, and thanks for the responses.
