Default How much should I pay for a .....

    MAF translator?

Im gunna start getting serious on modding my car.
Right now I'm venting my HKS SSQV to atmosphere. I know I'm gunna pick up some miles per gallon as well.

What version of the translator should I get? How much should I spend on one used?

Currently, I'm indecisive as if I should get DSMLINK or just go piggyback with a datalogger and a-afc II....until I learn as much as I can, then buy DSMLINK for my other white 1g AWD......I have 2 1g AWD's.

The main reasons as to why I'm indecisive with DSMLINK right now is because I'm gunna go to Mexico In the summer for a whole month and that could pose a problem. Gas in Mexico is really shitty.

If any of you see a Translator for a 1g version 2.0 or higher let me know....I don't wanna vent to atmosphere with my stock maf. Help me out.

Manny, if you point me in a good direction, that would be great. I know that you know a lot about tuning and stuff like that.
    BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....

Translator will get you pretty close to the numbers you want if not exactly. DSMLink is just more accurate. So it depends on how much of a .010 you want to be exact in your hp/tq and 1/4 numbers. I bought my translator setup for about 180 (WITH gm maf) surfing through dsmtuners. Just gotta look for deals. If you have no idea on how to tune, the translator will be easier to catch on. DSMLink will take a while, but you'll have a broader understanding once it's all said and done.

I paid 220 for my translater with maf and shipping on ebay. Look for about 200 as a ballpark

if you're thinking of upgrading to DSMLink down the line, might as well get it now.
you can combine the GM MAF and DSMLink together (yes it supports it)
no use getting the AFC II if you're just going to upgrade.

all you need is a good friend with the ability to burn new chips so that way you can just order DSMLink once and use it in all your cars.
DSMLink isn't hard to figure out. my buddy figured it out with no tuning knowledge at all.

this man speaks the truth, honestly a buddy of mine jumped from one tuning device to the other while he was waiting on dsmlink....just get everything all at once, save yourself the time and money.

if not, look in the $200 range

I got my MAFT setup for around $180. Don't forget to either modify your current UICP or buy new ones for blow thru setup.
