    Default george's 1998 z28 Camaro

well i guess you can say i switched over

Bought this camaro couple weeks ago for a pretty decent deal
that i couldn't pass up, because it wouldn't pass smog. $20 later its fixed and passes smog with flying colors

Car is pretty much all stock just got a lid and a catback, nothing major.

All i've done is pretty much maintenance to make sure it was done, and i dont have to worry about it later on. Done front brakes and rotors, both belts, clean TB plate, changed rear diff fluid, tranny fluid, oil change, spark plugs and wires (which #8 is a complete bitch to get out), both air pump check valves, gaskets, and fuse (reason it didnt pass smog)

also replaced the headlights with projectors i dont like but they were cheap and better than the stock ones that were caked like a mofo.

Found a great deal on some c5 corvette wheels with almost new tires, runflats at that.

and finally hired thomas (thomas91169) to detail the car, which he did an amazing job on thanks again!

yep, its what happens when a person with a brain works on a issue, rather than some dumbass "mechanic" that only diagnoses problems off of trouble codes alone.

Detail turned out awesome, spent ~16hrs on it, from wash/claybar and some polish thursday night, to more polishing friday, and finishing polishing, sealing, waxing, gloss enhancing, trim restoration, wheel wash and wax on saturday. Id say i was able to get 95% of swirls and surface defects out of it. not bad for an 11yr old paint job.

a lowly smog tech. who'da thunk it?

this dude was gonna have to pay $950 for a "real mechanic" to replace the smog pump, when that wasnt even the issue. Either thats one dumbass tech that didnt troubleshoot and just assumed, or that was a shady ass shop that knew the real issue that was about to profit $930, if not more.
