    Default Mustang GT vs. Me

I went out tuning today in this ridiculous heat (97* :( ) I got about 15 minutes out of town and played around for a bit but didn't really get anywhere because my coolant temps were around 215 during a pull and that's enough to throw timing out of wack so I headed back home. Still running plain tap water because I had a little leak I needed to fix. Switching to distilled and water wetter now that the leak is gone. Only changes I made today was dialed in a nice 24psi on the hallman pro. No fuel or timing changes though, I didn't want to mess with anything with coolant temps up there.

On my way home, I was on the highway outside of town doin? about 70mph. A black Mustang GT comes up way behind fast! I slowed down to 60mph and let him get closer. He was doin? about 20mph faster than I was and as soon as he got within 1 car length of me, I dropped to 3rd and lit ?em up and so did he.

His front bumper got to my door by the time I hit full boost and gained enough speed to pull on him (which didn't take long at all :D ). From there I put 4+ car lengths on him until I let off at 110-115. I thought it was a V6 until he followed me into town and got into the lane next to me 1 car up and I saw the GT stuff and heard that nice deep, throaty sound of a modified exhaust on a V8. Wasn't enough though, and sure won't be close to enough after I'm actually tuned.

Nah, he just looked at me like I punched him in the throat. I thought he'd nod or say something but he just looked pissed off like MOST mustang owners do when they loose to anything with less slugs... mustang guys don't take that the wrong way, I didn't say "all."

We still should get a tuning day together to learn from each other. Maybe someone knows of a good place out side of town with not so busy roads? I know there's like 3 of you getting DSMLink very soon so maybe we can set something up. There's some good places out here with vacant, flat roads but it's a good hour away from Sac.

I'll find some links to good tuning resources for now so you guys can read up.

That would be awesome if you could find some links. I dont plan on getting anything to tune with for a while but I would still like to learn how.

i make a few turns out of my housing tract and i have miles upon miles of desolate country roads. thats usually where i do my pulls on. i actually found a road that has perfect turnouts that(at night) seeing a car come is very rare, and it(like most backroads) is long enough to where if i wanted to top the car out i could with plenty of room to spare, but im more self controlled than that. 100mph tops.

too bad im getting rid of the dsm though.
