Thread: 3way(96 talon AWD, Me, 05 Stang GT)

coming home friday night, im in front of the pack, my freind(boostedAWD) behind me, going from 120 onto 99.

i can see a 05 stang creeps behind him as we make the offramp from 120 that slopes down to hwy99. i think to myself"eh prolly a v6" and keep driving. we get a few miles and im way out in front, BoostedAWD drops into the middle lane, letting the 05 get next to him.

they both hit it and start flying up towards my position(a few hundred feet ahead). i immediately downshift from 5th to 4th and get ready for the 05 to come up. at this time i can tell from the rearview that BoostedAWD is alot closer to me than the 05 is(meaning hes winning). i then downshift into 3rd and pull way way ahead to give them room.

my friend(boostedAWD) slows down after im guessing 110ish. i think "Oh theyre done, time to get back to cruising" and go into 4th, which is when i notice the 05 is still coming up hard. i say "oh he thinks he can do a ricer flyby" and drop back down into 3rd.

by this time he is about 2-3 cars behind me, i can hear its definately a GT(cant mistake a 4.6's roar). seeing hes already rolling at about 90ish, i wait till i can feel him at my rear, and i just hit it. he hits it too, but its not enough. i instantly pull about 2 cars on him, you can hear him over my car(windows down) struggling to keep up. i hit 4th and take that all the way to about 130, where hes now fully in my rearview(good buslength). so i hit the hazards further embarass him, and hit 5th and just cruise back down to about 85ish.



we come up on traffic and i get in the middle lane and let him pass. i didnt get a good look but BoostedAWD said it was a chick. i couldnt tell, the windows were tinted and it was 1 in the morning.

there is a car right in front of me, and the 05 gets on it again, knowing i couldnt do a side-by-side since there was a car there. i drop into 4th and swing behind him, hes pulling very slightly on me. i then get a huge clearing and downshift into 3rd again and swing around to the middle. shifting into 4th were side by side. by the time i was done with 4th i could see him(or her) in the rear mirror again.

back into 5th and hazards beeped to add salt to the wound. i hit the brakes a bit cause i was coming up on traffic, the slow and mid lanes were taken, the fast lane was open. wouldnt you guess what happens next?

yup, ricer flyby. i then slow way down to about 60ish and wait to let BoostedAWD catch up, but i get to my offramp way before that happens.

it was a very humbling drive home. i had finally achieved my goal for the evo16g mod list, which was destroying a 05 GT, cause i used to hate them(they grew on me, but still).

tight win man.I like the mustangs,it's not their fault their owners are asses.

Haven't check here in awhile, good kill man. I actually like the last mustang a little better (especially the Mach 1 8) ), but yeah the new ones are growing on me.

They better!!!!! u know what sux? the gt is only like 1 second faster than the v6. oh well.

my best freind, boostedawd on here has a mustang and doesnt act like the run of the mill "my mustang is a v8 and will decimate all" mustang guys. its kinda sad, hell sit there and say his car is slow when its pretty dam quick for being a stock 95 5.0. its got some balls. i also know a few other mustang owners that arent dicks about being a v8, and know and repsect dsm's and modded imports if theyre done right.

but there are always the assholes in every car following. hondas have their riceheads, domestics have their "LS1 IS GOD" hickness, dsmers are pretty high strung also, so its not like any one group is better. but then again if we didnt believe in our cars then they really wouldnt have a following like they do. same with any popular car with aftermarket to boot.
