    Default My first race in my GSX

    Hey everyone iam back with a new DSM, I have a 97 GSX 5 spd with a 14b, rewired 255 walbro pump, 3 inch Apexi turboback exhaust, K&N filter, MBC, crushed 1G BOV. Man do I love AWD! Especially coming from my old GS-T. Anyways I pulled up to a brand new 06 RSX type S that was modded from what I can tell. Two guys in the car look at me and give me the race look so I gave them the nod. I reved to 5000rpm and they were prolly pissing their pants if they new what was gonna happen. Light turns green, I launch all I heard was their tires squeeling and I had an instant 3 car lengths on him. By the time I shifted into 2nd I had 5 car lengths on him. The guy passed by when i slowed down with a grin on his face, while i smiled enjoying AWD. Anyways not the biggest thing to brag about but I just thought I would share my glory with my new dsm. I am heading out to Sac raceway within a few weeks to see what she can do. I am hoping for mid to high 13s, anyone know what times I should expect out of my GSX with my mods?

    Ehh not the most exciting kill story I know but can anyone tell me what kind of times i could pull with these mods, iam not trying to bench race just want to have an idea of what to expect, and to know if i need to bring the helmet or not.
    My Mods:
    97 GSX 5 spd
    K&N filter
    14b @15 psi
    3 inch Apexi Turbo back exhaust with cat
    Walbro 255 fuel pump(rewired)
    8mm plug wires
    NGK cold range plugs
    1G crushed BOV

    Clutch is stock but still good, I consider my self a decent driver, what kind of times you guys think I can pull?

    i would say low 14's, high 13's at sac raceway.

    I'd think high 13's-low 14's also. I would look into fuel mods and a logger next, then you'll be able to up the boost and be well into the 13's with your stock clutch holding on for dear life :D

    Yeah I plan on buying a logger next, then some injectors. I would be happy with a low 14 to high 13 second pass.

    I would say mid 14'z............

    Make sure you get to Sac raceway with a 1/4 tank of gas or less....

    I went to Sac raceway with full interior, complete soundsystem, 18" wheels, a full tank of gas, bonestock with only an HKS bov and ran a 14.7 @ 91 mph

    I was pulling 1.7 and 1.8's in the 60 foot.

    4500k to stage, go full throttle just before the last yellow light then drop the hammer and you should see the green light turn on out of the corner of your eye as you go by, unless you blow an axle...they yell to your buddies to push been there too!!
