Default 100 Octane is my friend :) 2 Mustangs in 15 minutes..

Soo I was doing a little test and tune on some 100 octane.. First time ive had 100 octane in this dsm.. Ohhh daddy Like.. Goodbye knock.. So I slowly worked my way up to about 22-23 lbs on my evoIII 16g.. Couldnt believe how lean I was able to run it.. So just about when I get it dialed in im cruising along a street, which will remain nameless, and a late 90's black Mustang cobra comes cruising up beside me... Hes giving me the pipes (Sounds like stock muffs without cats)... I gave him a coupla little blowoffs as we roll up to a stoplight.. (Street was out of town and empty.. Middle of the day on Sunday..) Light goes green and we both start accelerating normally.. But every time i edge up a little he starts accelerating a little harder untill all of the sudden he hits it hard while im at the top of first.. I punch it to get spooled then grab second.. By this time he had about half a car length on me cause he hit it first.. By the end of second gear my exhaust is about even with his open drivers window when i shift hard to third emitting an extremely loud pop from my muff right by his head.. I walked him pretty damned hard in 3rd.. I made it to about 6500 rpm in 3rd before he shutdown.. I had about 4 car lengths on him.. So that was fun.. Next light he took a fast right hand turn and disapeared.. hehe ahh life was good..

Then.. about 10 minutes later on the same street coming back into town a ruthless sounding, blue, early 90's 5slo with saleen lookin wing comes up on me.. And again we get a nice red light with almost no cars in sight.. This dood is revving on me hard at the lights.. I rev once.. Some redneck lookin white kid.. maybe 18-19.. Im watching the other light and start to rev when i see it go yellow.. Our green hits.. He launches HARD.. I managed to bog my launch due to the fact that im not used to launching on my Fidanza flywheel.. So I lose my AWD advantage and im about even with his rear bumper.. I grab second and reel him in.. By the shift to third we were dead even... When we hit 4th i had about 2 cars on him.. We pulled allmost all the way thru my 4th shutting down somewhere around 100 mph.. By that time I had a rediculous lead (It was alotta car lengths.. dont even wanna guess how many).. I love my top end on 100 octane.. I slowed down and he did the typical american ricer flyby and blew a light to get away from me..

Made my day... Hopefully next time maybe ill actually get to race with a decent launch....

    * Edit.. My poor Turbo was nearing the end of its days before this abuse.. Now its just about toast..

    Great kill Ben....

So, the launch is that much different with a Fidanza flywheel? I didn't think a flywheel would cause you to bog that hard and lose a launch to a stang....

By the way, where did you get that 100 octane at?
    BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....

They sell 100 octane at Watt and El Camino at the 76 station. Its only on one pump. Theres a few more places around as well, I just forget where.

Soon! Yah Ive found you have to launch about 1000 rpm higher.. 4 grand will bog a little.. 5 seems to work pretty decent.. Still doesnt launch AS hard as it did with the heavier flywheel.. But it accelerates harder faster after the launch so its all good..

The shell station on the corner of hutchins and kettleman in lodi sells 100 octane on the pump closest to the intersection..

Also you can get 100 or 110 at the 76 station on yosemite off of the 120 in manteca..

the highest we have in the area that is unleaded is 100 octane. the 110 at the pump is leaded... that and i can't get to the pump because it's locked in a cage at the marina... lol

Yah 110 is leaded.. Last time I was at that 76 station they still had it last summer.. Thats Manteca for you.. It looks funny too because its just right there .. Click the 100 button or the 110.. Little official yellow stickers.. At that time the 100 was 4.99 a gallon and the 110 was 5.99.. But this was a while ago so who knows..

The shell station in lodi sells the 100 octane for 5.99 a gallon.
