Default GSX vs SRT-4 (from last year)

This was a friendly run, setup by Adam (from Vacaville). I had just installed my B16g, FMIC, and all the other supporting mods except the clutch and flywheel :? . I had driven around a little to see how it felt and sure enough this is the turbo setup that should have come with the car, it was really a night and day difference  , of course my stock clutch objected in its own noticeable way, but oh well .

Adam once told the owner of the SRT-4 that his old laser with a 16g could keep up him, this was of course objected to by the SRT-4 owner, so with that in mind I was asked if I would be willing to partake/be the guineapig for his debate/theory and of course, I was game :D .

We lined up on the deserted road (conveniently maked off for the 1/4 mile run) I dropped the pedal to the floor and the stutterbox responded appropriately with a booming 4,000rpm stuttering/5psi reading on the boost gauge  , a flick of the headlights by both parties and we were off into the brisk night.

With the 5psi of boost and AWD I had a good headstart, but his LSD kept it close. Second came on almost to quickly as my head was still recovering from the trama of being slug back into the headrest, I was ready, the clutch however was not, but didn't mind handing over 2nd, so I gladly accepted. At this point I was at a quick glance, 3-4 car lenghs maybe, ahead of the competition and at this point things were going really well, until 3rd gear, oh yeah, here it comes, in what seemed like a flash. Hit 3rd and the stock clutch can't believe what's happening, it reluctantly gave it to me, but what it did and what it smelled like, told me this is where I was going to be in trouble  . Needless to say there was a noticeable pause in power delivery, until the 19psi of boost finally took full effect. I remember somewhere hearing that the SRT-4 has a strong 3rd gear and now I was seeing it up close, as the competition was gaining  . Luckily the 4G63 handled the boost like a pub regular, only slightly protesting with a 5 knock count reading on the stock boost gauge as I crossed the finish line as the victor :P by only about 2-2.5 cars lengths. We repeated, with pretty much the same outcome on the second run. I believe the SRT-4 had only a Cat-back exhaust and waste gate mod done, but I'm not sure :?: . I'm positive like me, the competition will only be faster next time when we meet, so it should still be close 8). Thanks for reading and I apologize if I offended the comma police, but I had to address the lack off kills as was noted in a previous post :!:

great kill bro,i don't know why srt owners get like that, theres nothing wrong with loosing to a dsm, were the OG 4 cylinder boost kings anywhoo.Nothing wrong with loosing to a srt either, their very nice machines for what they are.

well put - SRTs are the masters of catch-up races. I kill 05 Mustang GTs, but will lose a sprint from 40mph against an SRT. Hey- at least the SRT guys arent as mean as some of the domestic owners ive met. Has anyone else noticed that Mustang and F-body owners can be really pissa?!

In there defense, anyone in any car click can have a had attitude and not all stang owners do... But yes, the Buttstain guys seem to be the worst overall.
