Turbo siezed up is a 3000 dollar problem at most shops (not kidding sadly) so selling the car for 400 the guy thought he was getting a deal.
Hell crankwalk is a 9000 dollar problem according to satan thats how i got my 2G Talon so cheap.
Tho if the turbo siezed I would be carefull to check the plasma the guy was using for oil. Sounds like he put 30,000 miles on his gunk.

3000 dollar problem,man do you know what the hell your talking about? its a 90 so its 6 bolt. weve checked out everything else and its fine,were gonna flush the engine and get a new turbo.thats all.and a girl had it that knew nothing of what she drove.
I think he means to the "average joe", most shops would charge that much, so thats why he sold it to you for $400.

the girl didnt want the car and figured it was a 1990 and it only hit 1psi of boost and didnt pass smog so she sold it chear :)
yeah the stock t25 is 1200 bucks from satan. we all know its actually a 50$ hair dryer. plus labor for a 8 hour job is gonna suck. most dsmers can do a turbo swap in under 4 hours with the right spare parts(proper size hoses for coolant, proper oil fittings, etc) and even in less time if nothing goes wrong(no broken turbo-manifold bolts or threads).
my buddy, when he wanted a new turbo, told his woman his stocker was blowd up. so he goes to mitsu, and gets the printout of how much a new one costs(1200), then goes online and finds one for half the price and 50x better(evo16g) and she thinks her husband is smart in searching for a bargain and still thinks its the same turbo, while he just got away with modding his car without her being the wiser.
You guys don't even wanna know some of the deals we get on DSM's
Heres one example.......91' GSX, the Lady PAID us $50 to take it.......only thing wrong with it.....bad ECU, the shop told her the engine was bad, :(
95' 3000gt VR-4 6 speed, cost $250 locked up transfer case, put a rebuilt case in it, sold for $12k!!!
My last 88' Starion I got for $100 running and driving would not pass smog!
