Default So what do I do when I think a smog place is playing dirty?

Ok so I take in my baby to have her Smogged and viola I pass ODB2 and Emisions with flying colors (My car literally polutes less then a cigarette).

Then in the Functional check I get the big fat fail for having 13% mechanical BTDC.

Thinking ok its a swap timing must be muffed up I talk to Lee (who again saves my life) and short my ECU timing to check my mechanical BTDC

    5%

5% and I cant make it move. 5.0 solid revved, with ac on, driving around my parking lot, with the stero blasting. 5.0 sitting at idle. 5.0 with me screaming "you fucking smog bitches why the fuck did you fail me" at the laptop.

In a small reverie I recall that EVERY car that was seen was failed for timing. Makes me think there machine is off but my free retest is at that station only.

Tomarrow I have to get a male male coupler for my vaccum hose on my wastegate (failing visual for a boost controller was just stupid of me but luckily it was a pretest) and get a retest. If they try to fail me again what should I do?

    Show them DSM link? LOL

I think if they wont let me test on their other machine Ill call the BAR. Would that be the right place for a Test Only Smog station?

Yea, and it's the stupidest shit. smog checks were designed to lower emissions and keep our air healthy. So when a car fails for something stupid like that when it pollutes less than half the shit on the roads it annoys the hell outta me.

So I said F/U to Smog Stop and took it to Tailpipes on Vernon in Roseville. A gentelman by the name of Mike Land works at that station on Weekends. He is a manager of a Fair Oaks one durring the week. Mike has a boosted Thunderbird :)

Long story short, timing is not required to pass a test only on a distributorless system even tho the "Test only for dummies" book says it is. They can transmit to the DMV with the result N/A for timing.

Nifty... I hid the controller and display.. But the solenoid was just sitting there in plain sight.. and even says right on it.. "Greddy Boost Control Solenoid"
