Default Im goiing to Sacramento Raceway 7/27/05...any suggestions?

ok, So imma take my red awd to Sacramento raceway for the first time.......
what things should i do there? are there any things i should watch out for? Ive read about people on here that dont like Sacramento Raceway...

how much is the race gas there? should I buy my race gas somewhere else?

How many runs will i be able to get in?

i'm gunna get there as early as possible so that i can catch some practice runs first.
Im taking my camcorder and my budies are too.

    Im hoping to get a 15.0 in the 1/4 mile.......and a 3.0 sec in the 0-60

by the way, the car is a 92 eagle talon tsi awd 6bolt/4bolt......5-speed. 14b turbo

    anybody wanna go?
    BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....

Droopy... what mods do you have? You should definately be able to hit under 15sec even if your car's stock as long as you know how to launch your awd. You want a 3.0sec in the 0-60... 0 to 60 ft. in 3 sec. is alot! You're gonna be under 2 sec. with a decent launch. Race gas there is expensive and not worth it especially if you're not running crazy amounts of boost. If you insist on getting race gas, swing by the 76 station on the corner of Watt and Marconi. I don't like Sac Raceway because it's to hot and the track itself is kinda ghetto. People say they run like 1/2 sec. quicker at Infineon. Watch out for the right race lane, the starting line isn't flat and your car start rolling over it when your clutch is in and you're waiting to launch. Good luck!

If your car isn't tuned for race gas, you'll run slower. Unless you just crank up the boost and go but that's a little dangerous without a logger.

I'm guessing like a mid 14 in the mid 90s if you've never been before. It's easy to learn but if you've never raced like that at the track, you'll need at least a few trys to get some decent times. Unless you're a really good driver already. Good luck!

If you've never been at the track before and don't know how to launch an awd, expect 15-16 secs. Nerves and a new environment do that. But don't feel bad. Tooners and Talk 'say' you should be getting a 14.5ish times, but just do your best and concentrate soley on your 60' and your trap speeds. If you pull an ass time, we can help explain what you need to work on if you post your timeslip. Remember, as a first timer, DO NOT pay attention to the tree. Once it turns green, take your time in learning how to launch versus trying to get a good reaction time. Reaction time means diddily when you just want a good 1/4 number. Play with the rpm between 5-5500, consistantly reving, then when your ready mash the gas, then slip the clutch like your at a traffic light normally, but dump it faster then you would. You'll know when to release the clutch, about half a second, when the car starts to roll. Good luck!

    Hey whatz up Thomas.....

I met a guy here in Galt thats from Hayward with a black 92 gsx coming out on Wednesday with me.
He gots a evo16g turbo, evo3 manifold, evo3 02housing, gm maft....carbon fiber hood, pretty nice car.

he told me he ran a 13.7 at Sacramento Raceway on his 14b with race gas....

I have another question............i have some 18" rims on my car right now.....should i slap on the stock 16" rims and tires back on for the track? Or is the change very minimal?

put your stock rims back on. put the tire pressure to 18 psi in the rear and 20 psi in the front.
