    Default this months import tuner

i just read 2 articles about cops... one of the articles were talking about how import magazines engourage people to street race. and in the second article it was talking about how honda had a really big meet at eibach and a CHP showed up and gave out tickets, forcing one of the cars to get towed home because it wasnt street legal. thats just crazy

Im not gonna bash the law because obviously we do need it. BUT, its rediculous how they make it where you cant mod your car at all in California, but in the mid states they run test pipes and shit like that. Just makes me mad to see even hondas at a meet get tickets. They arnt street racing they are at a meet, maybe some of the guys/girls there drive within the speed limit and everything else, but mod their car and take it to the track. Seriously it just seems like its getting out of hand.

it simple, they make more money giving out tickets then puting crack dealers and psycos in jail.I mean cmon, you go to court and wether you win or loose theres 200-300 dollars of "court" cost, for what, 5 minutes of you saying guilty or not?no iy's to pay their benz, jauguar, and 745 BMW car quotes,If they reallly cared about street racing and all the kids and innocent people dying over it,they would make more trtacks,or designated spots to race in throughout the country. Were the nation isn't as lucky as the rest of us,and the speedway isn't 15 minutes away.

i don't see how they can ticket people at a sanctioned event. those are supposed to be untouchable. you don't see cops rolling into HIN and ticketing all the people for neons or ticketing the models for "skimpy clothing".

that's just going too far. i'm sure all those tickets will be dropped.

they actually have did that before. at the san diego one i think... a bunch of cops just sit outside and wait for all the cars in the show to leave and pull each one of them over.

that's after the event though. but that's still a low blow.
i'm sure if they fight the ticket, it'll be thrown out.

thats just like the cops will go watch the drag strip for the fastest street cars(that are obviously modified) then wait for them to pull out of the strip, then rape them hard.

but i agree, things are getting out of hand with the whole modification deal. i mean shit, i can run open dp, 1000cc injectors, cams, and all the boost i want, and still make less pollution than my dads tahoe with 4 cats. the only way the modification is illegal is cause of pollution laws. if california had every person who wanted to be labeled as "smog exempt/modified car" pay 100 bucks a year, cali wouldnt be in debt and the cops wouldnt have any reason to pop hoods anymore.

and even more bullshit is the "DUI and DOT-SAE-CARB" checkpoints now. youre basically fucked, its prolly cheaper to get a DUI than go through one of those with one of our modded dsm's.

wont be long before a huge california revolution. not long till someone gets on our side with enough money and power to fight the system and win. i know ahnuld wanted to lessen smog restrictions but that was killed almost instantly.

Time to buy an old school muscle car so we wont have the smog restrictions. I have that issue of Import Tuner. I cant say cops are gay or not needed cause they are. My best friends dad is a sheriff that follows around wanted murder's and such and I think that is cool, I give him mad respect. I just dont like the cops that all they do is give tickets for, tinted windows, loud exhuast, different color turn signals, speeding 5mph over the limit, they take it too far in Cali. Down here in So Cal in Ontario (the huge place to go and street race down here) there was a big bust where like over 200 cars got ticketed and lots were impounded.

That's what annoys me the most. I mean what the hell, if the car produces LESS pollutants, then why can't it pass smog? Isn't that what the smog check's about, making the cars run clean? I really think the visual inspection should be dropped altogether. It's emissions that are an issue (and esp in souther cali, they really are a problem) and if we can make our cars go faster or perform better, and still pass that tailpipe test, maybe even with better numbers than a comparable class car, why the hell shouldn't we be able to?
