engine rebuild?
i came across two 1gs that im thinking of taking a look at. one is a 90 gsx that has like 179k. the dude wants 900 bucks for it. the thing is, buyer pays for smog.
the other is a 91 gst with 145k for 1500 bucks.
well my question is, reguardless if i get one or the other, i would like to get the engine/tranny/turbo rebuilt. for now, i would just have it rebuilt to stock specs. how much would i be looking to spend?
You're looking at $700 and up for a full engine rebuild. About the same or more for a tranny rebuild. And a new 16G turbo would run you about $550-$600. I woudn't bother replacing or rebuilding the 14b unless you know how to do it yourself and just want to save money.
So call it $2000 for a fresh engine/tranny/turbo.
