I almost was in tears as I called for a tow truck on Saturday after having major detonation in the 4th cylinder. I will keep you posted after Dr. Ol num 7 comes over tomorrow to diagnose the problem. So far I have a spark plug that came out with the coil pack (blew through the threads) and I should have the head off tonight. Urggggggggggggggggggg! Mitsu's.............

Sorry to hear man, hope it's as simple as a new head and bolt it back together... knowing you a stock head wouldn't go back on the car lol

Saturday morning on my way to get Forza Motorsport from Target.

I can't get a good compression test in the 4th cylinder but I managed to get a reading of 90lbs with a ghetto rigged device to keep the compression hose air tight in the cylinder

1: 199
2: 210
3: 218
4: 90

No......the head is coming off and as many stock parts are going to be replaced underneath....Jonathan will finalize the list tomorrow of what I need to order but I've already secured an HKS head gasket, ARP studs and bolts. We'll see the rest of the damage tomorrow. I'm fine and the car is fine as well.....nothing a little blood, sweat, tears and money can't solve.

Were you just laying into it and it popped?

don't feel bad,i almost cried last week after my moment of stupidity...so,what happened?how did you blow thru the threads on the head?I wouldn'y buy a boxstr,but i can't say it's not a nice car.

I have no idea what happened. I was going 30 mph and was shifting from 2nd to 3rd at about 3000 rpm and I lost most power. I pulled to the side and I thought it was a kink in my mbc but it didn't get better after fixing that. I decided to tow it home instead of try to drive it. I thought it may be something with the ignition so I went to check and BAM....,my coil pack and spark plug are in pieces and the spark plug comes up with the plug wire/coil pack. :roll: I'll know tomorrow when we get the head off.
