My personal pref is a bandpass with a nice set of 10"s. I like high response speakers with punchy bass cause I listen to a lot of music with faster beats (house and rock, metallica with crazy solo's and techno remixes of schitt) thus the smaller speaker size... a sealed enclosure is also good for that... If you listen to more hip hop or rap, and are just looking for that hard hit, you might go with a 12 or 15 in a ported box, but a bandpass with a pair of 12's would sound good too... hatchbacks are wonderful cars for subs.

i listen to everything but country ahhhhhh cant stand that ish! but yeah im going to have 2 -12s
got everything but the box need to figure out what plan im going to go with...
i just dont like the distorted bass... my buddies celica is running a bandpass with the same subs sounds great im sorta leaning torwards that but want to look into options... not gonna go with a box till i grab some more dynamat tho hate rattle...

I voted Enclosed. All my friends have em, my g/f has them and I had enclosed and enjoyed it. My next door neighbor owns Anthony's Car Stereo in North Highlands and almost everything they sell is enclosed as well. Which is what they recommend. :)
yup, enclosed for me also, i LOVE the low end bass response you get with a sealed box :D
An audio guy recomended ported for me, he asked what i listened to and i said rap, so thats what he suggested. Then again it might depend on the subs too.
enclosed,gotta have that everlasting BASS.
enclosed is the best for cars with hatchbacks. i tried the ported in my car and it sounded like crap. ported boxes sound a lot better in suvs and bigger cars.
