love the way it looks but i cant help feelin like a ricer? thinking with going with a turbo setup but from what i hear the 420a is crap... so i dunno... its more of a daily driver right now cuz my ga just eats up gas...

On a side note... (its just me... cant ever turn down someone who revs at me) the RS is stock... killed a riced out accord w fireball muffler...

welcome and yeah the 420a is highly not recommend for running boost and especially an auto one. It also costs anywhere around $1,000 for a turbo kit, plus smog would be a problem as well as cops :) . I had a GS for a while then I just saved up and got a GST. The RS/GS are nice daily drivers though! Anyways, welcome to the forums :D

actually the 420a is stronger than us turbo guys give it credit for. i was running 10psi on my GS which put it at 297hp to the ground. that's about the limits of the motor. if you want any info on making your RS turbo, let me know. my friend is still running his GS with a Star Performance Stage II kit on his car.
he has a built block now and is running 15psi.

If 297 hp is the limit on that motor then it is a poor motor for turbo charging :)

don't underestimate the 420a. my buddy is in the process of building his up (after spinning a few bearings...). block bored 20 over, eagle rods, low comp. forged pistons, cams, 3 angle valve job, etc. putting on a t3/t4 setup and planning to run 15-18 psi... should be 350 to the wheels easy....

420a is pleh. Put in an equal amount of money in a 420a and a 4g63t and then see what happens.

thats cool if ya want to turbo it :) I'm not saying its bad, but I believe you're better off saving for a car already equipped with a factory turbo :) But its your car and up to you :D

So a built 420 is gonna put out the same amount of horsepower my stock 4G63 block is holding?

stock for stock the 420a with a Star Stage II kit will outrun a stock GS-T with BOV and IC pipes. i know for a fact because i used to own an Eclipse GS as my first car. it will run a consistent 13.5 in the quarter on 10psi (that's as high i'd recommend on a stock motor). my friend who still owns a turbo GS runs consistent 12's in his car running 15psi. there are benefits to keeping the NA DSM and making it turbo. most people LOVE their cars and it's hard to part with them because they might already have stuff done. keep in mind... the Star Stage II is a t3/t4 with your choice of trim.
another good thing is that you will have cheaper insurance. bad thing is you won't pass smog.

so the toss up is to see what you want to do with your car. how fast are you wanting/willing to go? how much hp are you wanting to make? things like that.

i don't knock people for modifying their cars and doing it right. i only knock people who make fun of people for trying something different and for those who are just plain rice. "mAd jDm tYteZ y0!!!"
