Default I FINALLY GOT A NEW TURBO!

Hey guys! Finally replacing my T25! Forced Performance is having a group buy on their 18g-6SL2 turbo, so I got in on the deal. Here are some photos! Special thanks to Lee and Manny for their advice and suggestions! Planning on doing the install in March with Manny. Thanks in advance Manny and I won't forget to bring your beer. I'll post up some more photos and a review later.

    Here's the detail from FP:
"The FP18G6SL2 turbocharger is a good choice for those looking for more power than the Big 16G in a street turbo. The 18G is rated at 600cfm, thats enough airflow to hit 400whp. We use the 18g wheel over the Evo3 wheel due to the 18's better high boost performance. The 18g wheel maintains its compressor efficiency much better in the 22-28psi range than the EVO3 16g wheel can.

It bolts up just like a regular 16G, and spools quickly enough to be very streetable. The 18G compressor wheel is mated to a TD06SL2 turbine wheel, which gives it better performance at higher boost pressures than the TD05H turbine, while maintaining lower exhaust manifold back pressures.

The turbine housing is cast pre-ported and fitted with a 34mm flapper valve. The WG passage remains stock diameter to limit blow open and boost drop off in the upper RPM. It is equipped with a 14psi wastegate actuator to further assist in hold boost to redline.

While it does have the redesigned wastegate passage to better control boost creep, some short side radius-ing of the WG entry and enlargement of the WG port will be helpful if you really want to turn the boost down and take advantage of the 34mm flapper. The high-nickel material in this turbine housing is much less susceptible to cracking than the materials used in previous generation Mitsubishi 7cm2 turbine housings."

Lol...yes, I know many of you have bigger turbos. Trying to maintain a sleeper look and on a student budget. It currently has a group buy price of $699 + shipping. The total price shipped to me was $721. It came with a gasket set, license plate frame, window decals, and a 1-year Forced Performance warranty.

looks good. I'm getting my evoiii 16g in a couple of weeks as soon as my tax check comes in. I'd gat a 18 or 20g if I find a good used one, but for the street, I don't think I wanna go bigger(I know manny, Iknow).
