    Default I love dsmlink

I passed smog to day with flying colors below the averages on everything with 2.3l, 8.8:1 comp, FP2s, 1000cc injectors, fuel pressure a 43.5psi, & 255 pump. No abnormal driving to get the cat extra hot, no timing adjustments just changed my plugs then drove down and passed . I did get a free pass on the visual but the numbers are all that really counts IMO.

I LOVE DSMLINK and being awd I didnt have to get on those stupid rollers.

Why would I not pass a hood pop ? I have played that game before and I lost. I got pulled over and told to pop my hood (third time) and replied with a "no". Then I argued with the cop about reasonable cause to search a vehicle, same as the other two times. The only mistake I made was after it was all over hood unpopped and him just going to write me a no front plate ticket I accedentaly gave him my bill of sale along with the reg. and ins. card. The bill of sale said "buyer responcible for smog because of modifications to engine that may keep it from passing". Even then the only thing the cop wrote me a ref ticket for was "adjustable fuel pressure regulator". That car was far more modified visualy than my car is now. That car had GM blow thru, greddy bov, external wastegate, SMIM, COP, tubular exhaust manifold. My car now has everything almost looking stock aside from the short route pipping but even that painted black doesnt look to bad.

I think I will do just fine if I get pulled over and besides that I can promise you I will not make another mistake like I did a few years ago and hand then reasonable cause to pop my hood.

Do you happen to have any electronics or gauges inside of the vehicle that are after market?

It is just a game. It's a game that's supposed to keep lazy people up on their vehicle maintenance for the good of the environment. A neglected 20 year old engine spits and coughs out a lot more shit into the air than a modified, well built, well tuned tuner car EVER will. The CA local government chooses to use the police force to raise additional revenue for the state by targeting modified cars. Unfortunately for us, the well tuned, clean running modified cars we own are severely outnumbered by POS hack job tooner cars with ridiculous fuel pressure, ignition/mechanical timing, and piggy back hacked fuel maps that really do pollute the environment. It'll always be BS when you and I pass emissions with flying colors but MIGHT get slapped on the hand because of how something looks under the hood. All you can do is try not to get caught! Here in WA, there are just as stringent emissions tests but no visual!! You can have whatever you want under there as long as it's clean running.

Yes I do, but that does not give a officer the right to search my vehicle. If I am wrong let me no but I have never had an officer want to pop my hood over that. One time over my "loud exhaust" and one time over my "big aluminum radiator" It was actualy my intercooler.
My last car had the gauges in side of the stock vents so maybe I should do that with my car now.

what do you mean $800 ? I paid $47.50 for the smog

Sorry I am an idiot  you ment the dsmlink

You are correct. However, gauges and other after market electronics can be articulated into enough probable cause to conduct a search under the hood. :)
