Default Turbos: Garret, mitsu, turbonetics, sbr..........

I'm going to get a new turbo once I fix the leak with my car, (I already told shane he can buy my big16, if he still wants it) 8) but when I started looking for one there were too many and I dont really know wtf im looking at, I want something that will spool quick but still have lots of power. I was thinking maybe the mitsu super 20g but are there any alternatives? Maybe one that spools quicker than the mitsu's 20g? Any suggestions? :?

if you want quicker spool with the same power, look into sbr's gt-10 (dual ball bearing)

you said you wanted faster spool, that one would spool slower

Yeah, that would be a very poor choice. If you want fast spool and power for street use try a 20g. Once you start getting into the Big boy turbos expect to eather pay alot for a BB one or run nitrous on a Thurst bearing. If i was you 20g IMOP is your best bet.

Or if you wanna go big FP3065

OK so 20g with the upgraded turbine, 90 deg elbow, and internal wastegate. Is it really going to be worth it from a big 16? Or for that much money should I go with the dual ball bearing?

I say 20g, 50trim, or anything else that flows more then 44lbs/min. Alot of mutts going around for the 50trim so you'd be happy with spool up. But either choice, your going to loose bottom end if you want to fully support the turbo properly (cams, smim). I still think the best 'street' turbo is a fully tuned E16G with 272/272's. You get the spoolup charachteristics of a 14b and top end close to an 18g/20g. It really just depends on what your ultimate goal is for the car. The max crank power you can squeeze from these engines are supposedly 450-550. 20g and a 50trim will get you there no problem. If you plan on building the engine later and want 600+, do a big turbo now and just deal with the lag until you get around to it. Upgrade once :)
