My dad has an old '75 Ford F-100 that he hardly ever uses. It has a 390 engine, a C6 auto transmission, and a 9" rear end.
It drives great, but due to it being a 2bbl carbureted, it consumes way too much gas.
My dad said that back in the day in the 1970's, when he first bought it, the truck had a propane conversion on it, but it leaked and didn't run very well with it. My dad converted it back to carburetor.
I've been reading that propane conversion kits consume up to 50% less fuel, less emissions, and actually have a lil bit more power when the engine runs only on propane.
I think it would be pretty cool to convert the truck to run on propane. That way I could use it around town and haul stuff with it, and get pretty good mileage.
I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of power.
